From the Emirates Environmental Group comes the latest offering, the Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards.
After launching a successful regional network of the United Nations Global Compact last month, EEG has rolled out yet another powerful initiative to promote corporate citizenship and good practice among companies in the Gulf.
The Awards uphold the vision of the UAE government to successfully engage the business communities in achieving sustained growth and social development, and encourage standards of excellence in social and environmental performance.
It is supported by the United Nations Global Compact and recognized on the global platform as an emerging initiative from the GCC Network of the UN Global Compact.
A team of highly experienced business leaders, experts and think tanks are engaged as the Jury, and tasked with assessing the entries and selecting the winners. The awards are also ably supported by a local technical committee and a group of international advisors.
Commencing on May 22nd, 2008, the first cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards will conclude on October 14th, 2008 with a felicitation of winners, short listed companies, sponsors and supporting organizations at the Awards Gala Ceremony.
Objectives
- Encourage CSR good practice as a core function among local businesses
- Identify best practices, leadership and innovation
- Help to develop a CSR model for the UAE and the Gulf
Who should enter?
The Awards are open to all companies, irrespective of size and sector, operating across the Gulf Cooperation Council States.
