Brief:
The sustainability movement has become increasingly important for businesses worldwide as they face rising competition and the need to meet economic, social and environmental requirements. This factor is exacerbated by the challenges the world faces, such as climate change, feeding a growing population, meeting the increasing demands for energy, tackling diseases and more.
In an effort to address these issues, DNV is leveraging on the rising global demand for innovation by further developing its strategic research unit, in the firm belief that technology is a vital part of the solution for many of the global and industry challenges facing us today.
This community lecture will highlight DNV's Technology Outlook 2020 report which takes a look at the key technologies and trends that will make an impact towards the end of this decade. Ms. Elisabeth Harstad - Managing Director of DNV Research and Innovation - believes that the best way to be prepared for the future is to have a broad view over technologies from many industry sectors, including shipping, fossil energy, renewable and nuclear, and power systems.
