One of EEG's visions is to bind together all the different sectors of the community, to act as one, with a common goal of being good stewards of the environment by way of a national cleanup campaign which is commonly known as Clean Up UAE.
The Clean UP UAE 2011 shall be the 10th edition to the campaign conceived initially on December 2002 involving four (4) Emirates - Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi. Through the years, this national campaign has acquired outstanding scope as more and more people and sites joined the movement to combat environmental degradation through volunteer participation. To date, EEG has successfully involved all the seven (7) Emirates in this worthwhile campaign since 2005.
Last year, more than 20,000 participants joined hands across 106 locations in the massive cleanup operation collecting more than 100 tons of waste. This year, we aim to gather a massive work force and hit record breaking volume of waste collection with the strong support and dedication of like-minded academic institutions, organizations, families and individuals. We are also happy to have all the government environmental bodies in every emirate that are supporting us in organizing the popular mass activity in different sites spread across the country.
The campaign is held at the month of December each year. This year, the event shall be held on 12 December 2011 simultaneously across all Emirates of the UAE. We would like to offer you yet another platform to confer your active support to EEG's programs whilst affirming your environmental pledge for a cleaner, greener and sustainable UAE.
